The cantons of Bern and the municipality of Cerlier have created a living space allowing Swiss travelers to spend the winter. The commissioning of this site, which can accommodate up to eight units, is scheduled for fall 2022.
As part of the area assessment, the Lochmatte campsite in Cerlier was chosen in 2016 as the ideal winter holiday resort, the canton of Bern explained on Thursday. The campsite is only open in summer and the municipality owns the plots.
Having not been appealed, the neighborhood plan went into effect on April 8. The municipality of Cerlier, on the shores of Lake Bienne, will build and operate a salon. The canton will bear the planning and implementation costs.
