At the exit of Zurich airport, an imposing facade rises in front of pedestrians. The semi-circular shape after which it was named, “Circle”, is reminiscent of the entrance to an oversized football stadium. When arriving on the spacious terrace of this circular complex, the hiker is invited to climb a long staircase or stroll through the maze of ascending streets to his right or left. This new masterpiece of modern architecture has a neighborhood feel. It includes shops, a hotel, restaurants, health centers and an extension of the University Hospital of Zurich. The complex, which opened in October last year after five years of construction and an investment of 1.2 billion francs, stands out from shopping malls, usually used to entertain international tourists.
