What is the deadline for a priority letter?
A priority letter may be for you. With a small red stamp, it allows the postage of emergency mail in France – in less than 24 hours in metropolitan France – or internationally. Be careful, however, that its weight does not exceed three kilograms and its thickness three centimeters.
The green letter is economical and respects the environment because it is not sent by air, except for shipments to Corsica and abroad. It emits 30% less CO2 than a priority letter and allows mail and small shipments to be sent within 48 hours for shipments in mainland France.
Shipments with a tracking letter are therefore usually delivered within the normal 48 hour period. This is a classic postal J 2, excluding the priority letter. Of course, this time is given as an indication because it is not guaranteed. For envelopes intended for the EU, the delay is approximately 3 days.
Red stamp (priority – D 1): €1.28 Green stamp (ecological – D 2): €1.08 Gray stamp (economic – D 4): €1.06 Purple stamp (international): €1.50
What is the delivery time of registered mail?
The time of receipt of the registered letter is close to the time of the priority letter, between one and two days.
You should receive a paper receipt in your inbox on D4 which works after the recipient’s signature. The minimum recovery period for AR is therefore 5 days. If the addressee does not withdraw the acknowledgment of receipt after fifteen days, the acknowledgment of receipt will also be returned to the sender.
When depositing the registered letter at La Poste, it justifies the time of deposit with stamp within the second, with mention of the sender and the recipient, as well as the dispatch number. The acknowledgment of receipt is printed at the same time as the registered letter.

How to ensure that the letter is prioritized?
As you can see, a priority letter stamp gives you fast service, but how long does it take exactly? In less than 24 hours (D 1), i.e. delivery in a short working day for mainland France (including Corsica, Monaco, Andorra and the overseas departments).
The so-called priority letter, which costs 55 cents to 20 grams, should reach its addressee on D-Day 1, that is to say within one working day after dispatch. Ecoplis at the price of 50 cents must arrive D4.
If you do not want to go to the post office to send your package, know that you can use Colissimo online and send it from your mailbox (only in metropolitan France)!
